Floodplain Solutions will recommend a customized package of varied grants, loans and insurances tailored to your specific needs.  

The services we provide are offered at no up-front cost to you.  We charge a flat fee based on the amount of financial assistance you are approved for as a result of our product recommendations and administrative processing of your financial applications.

Planning / Analysis

In order to perform an analysis of your situation and allow us to recommend products that will provide financial assistance to bring your property into compliance with the new flood requirements, we will need some additional information from you:

  • Property Section / Lot / Block No.

  • Building Department Determinations / Notices

  • Survey / Elevation Certificate

  • Insurance Cancellations

  • Flood Insurance / Homeowners Insurance Policies

  • Special Needs / ADA

  • Septic or Sewer

  • Waterfront (Bulkhead)

  • Wetlands

Compliance Oversight

Through a review of the additional information you provide, your local Building Department and Design Professional, in compliance with local Building Department Code, FPS may recommend one, or a combination of, the following flood mitigation practices:

  • Elevation above the BFE (Base Flood Elevation)

  • Relocation of the structure to a higher elevation outside of a high-risk flood area

  • Demolish / Rebuild Structure at New Elevation

  • Flood Proofing Activities (for non-residential structures)

Products

 Floodplain Solutions will recommend that you consider:

  • FHA 203K Loan

    • FHA’s primary program for the rehabilitation and repair of single family properties

    • Flood mitigation activities are eligible

    • Combines financing for purchase or refinance and repairs into one loan

    • Can be used in cases where property owner finds flood insurance too expensive or generally to mitigate flood risk

    • Must be done by an FHA approved lender (we can recommend a lender)

    • Competitive mortgage rates

 

  • Increased Cost of Compliance (ICC) 

    • You may be eligible for up to $30,000 in ICC coverage if your building is insured through the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) with a Standard Flood Insurance Policy (SFIP)

 

  • Suffolk County Septic Improvement Program

    • Homeowners who decide to replace their cesspool or septic system with the new technologies will be eligible for a grant of up to $11,000 to offset the cost of one of the new systems.

    • Additionally, homeowners may qualify to finance the remaining cost of the systems via a loan, payable over 15 years at a low 3% fixed interest rate.
